General information

Our engineering tours are for prospective students –11th and 12th graders –visiting campus individually with their parents, who plan to apply to Princeton to study engineering within the next year or two.

Tour guides

Tours are led by members of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. Members are juniors and seniors who describe their experiences as engineering students at Princeton while providing an overview of the academic programs and facilities. Register using the calendar below.

Tour start

Guides will begin the tour promptly at 12:15 p.m. from the SEAS Undergraduate Affairs Office, room C209 in the Engineering Quadrangle (E-Quad), which is in the PROSPECT AVENUE neighborhood on the campus map

Tour duration

Tours last 45 minutes to an hour and are offered Monday through Friday, when classes are in session. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer guided tours on weekends, during Reading Period (just before exams) and exams, or during breaks.

Accomodations for large groups

If you wish to take a tour of the Princeton University campus, please see the Orange Key tour website and see information for arranging group tours. As a teaching and research institution, we are unable to accommodate visiting groups within our building. Our corridors are narrow and are used by our students, staff, and faculty engaged in engineering study and research. Large groups of visitors will be turned away at the door. No exceptions.

Fall Schedule

Our Fall 2026–2027 schedule will be announced in August 2026. Thank you for your patience as we finalize details.

For your planning purposes, guided engineering tours are expected to begin once our undergraduate students are settled into their fall classes, tentatively starting Monday, September 14, 2026.

Please note that many school districts may be closed in observance of Yom Kippur on Monday, September 21, 2026. As a result, campus is expected to be especially busy that day.  For a more pleasant experience, you may want to consider visiting us on another day if possible.

If our engineering tours are fully booked, please feel free to check back often, as spots may open up due to cancellations. To help accommodate as many guests as possible, we kindly ask that reservations be limited to the prospective student and one parent/guest, and we truly appreciate your consideration of others when reserving your tour spots.
